Stare Down

“Name?”
“Can’t you sound a little interested when you ask a guy that?”
“Do I look interested?”
“Come on. Who wouldn’t be?”
“I work in a truck stop. Trust me. I’ve seen it all.”
“Charming.”
“You going to tell me your name or do you not want the job?”
“I want the job! I want the job! The name’s Jack.”
“Age?”
“Too old for you toots.”
“I don’t date guys from the 50s.”
“Ouch. I’m twenty one since you can’t seem to take a joke.”
“Any useful skills?”
“Does being ruggedly handso-” An icy stare made him switch gears immediately. “I know how to take most cars apart and put them back together, excellent sense of humor and hardworking.”
